Community Engagement

"Cuyahoga Valley National Park recognizes the value of building genuine relationships with community members. We realize that working in community is as valuable as working within the boundaries of the park. We strive to address societal issues and recognize that we have a long way to go. We embrace the work ahead. We envision a day when the parks stories and visitation reflect the diversity of the surrounding communities." - Pam Machuga, Community Engagement Specialist

In our Community Engagement Office we work to realize this mission and bring the park to our local neighborhoods. Read more about some of the featured programs of community engagement below. To learn more about programming email us.

Read with a Ranger

The goal of the Read with a Ranger Program is to promote literacy and connect youth to the outdoor world. Park Rangers visit Cleveland and Akron Schools monthly to share a book about an animal that lives in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, fun animal facts, sing a silly song, and color with youth.
