![]() © D.J. Reiser The diverse plant habitats of Cuyahoga Valley create perfect settings for enjoying wildflowers. In the springtime, the park’s forests come alive with ephemeral (short-lived) wildflowers, especially in moist areas near creeks. Before the trees spread their leaves and block sunlight, the forest floor is a living canvas, painted with a variety of native wildflowers. Showing results 1-1 of 1

Photo Gallery Spring Wildflowers33 Images The first wildflowers begin to bloom in Cuyahoga Valley National Park as early as February. This gallery features native spring ephemerals. These appear before the leaf out of taller plants and trees blocks their light. To help you with identification, photos are organized by flower color. Bloom times and preferred habitats are included in the captions. As you hike, take care not to pick or trample these living gems. Photo Gallery Red, White, and Blue Wildflowe...32 Images To celebrate the American Flag, we created an American Flag using archived photos from our Park Volunteers (VIPs) and photos from our Wildflowers of Cuyahoga Valley National Park project on iNaturalist. All the wildflowers pictured here can be found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This image gallery reveals the original photos that were used to create this image. |
