Whiskeytown is easily accessible by car, bus, or plane, offering multiple transportation options for visitors. Whether you’re driving through scenic Northern California or taking advantage of free local transit, getting to the park is straightforward and convenient. Follow the steps below to plan your journey and enjoy your time at this beautiful national recreation area.

By Car

To reach Whiskeytown from Interstate 5:

  1. Take the Highway 44 West exit toward Downtown Redding and Eureka.
  2. From Downtown Redding, follow Highway 299 West toward Eureka.
  3. Drive approximately 8 miles to arrive at the Whiskeytown Visitor Center.

By Beach Bus

This summer, ride the RABA Route 19 Beach Bus for free between Downtown Redding and Brandy Creek Beach on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (excluding holidays).
