Whiskeytown’s Village of PartnersIt takes a dedicated community to successfully run Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, and our valued partners are a vital part of that village. These organizations contribute to the park’s mission in various ways, from supporting educational programs to enhancing visitor experiences. Friends of WhiskeytownFriends of Whiskeytown was incorporated in 2002 for the purpose of securing private funding for value-added park projects and programs at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Friends of Whiskeytown is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that strives to enhance the visitor experiences at the Park and provide stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Over the last several years, Friends of Whiskeytown has purchased dozens of kayaks and paddleboards for use by visitors during ranger-led programs. In 2021, the non-profit organization also funded the purchase of 500 Whiskeytown Coloring Books for distribution to children. Visit the Friends of Whiskeytown website to learn more. Western National Parks AssociationThe Whiskeytown Visitor Center bookstore is operated by Western National Parks Association, a 501c3 non-profit organization and education partner of the National Park Service. Western National Parks Association supports over 70 parks across the Western U.S. developing products, services, and programs that enrich the visitor experience. Some of the proceeds in every bookstore purchase at Whiskeytown goes back to the park to help the national recreation area's interpretive and educational needs. WES Community (Whiskeytown Environmental School Community)WES Community is the fundraising arm of Whiskeytown Environmental School. A 501c3 non-profit organization, WES Community helps support the educational goals, natural sciences, and outdoor recreation opportunities at the camp. Whiskeytown Marinas, LLCThe official concessioner of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Whiskeytown Marinas, LLC operates concessions at Brandy Creek Marina and Oak Bottom Marina, including the Oak Bottom Tent Campground and Oak Bottom RV Campground. Paddleboards and kayaks can be rented at Brandy Creek Beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day and a variety of boats can be rented at Oak Bottom Marina year-round.
