The Entomology Collection of Haleakalā National Park includes the following insect specimens that can be found within park boundaries and the Island of Maui.

Threatened and Endangered Insects
Under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, "Threatened Species" is defined as any species which is likely to become an endangered species within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range, while "Endangered Species" is defined as any species which is in danger of extinction.



Native Insects

These insects occur naturally with respect to a particular ecosystem and can be either endemic (found only in Hawai'i) or indigenous (found in Hawai'i as well as other places).
