Sites overlook ocean cliffs and are a short walk from ʻOheʻo Gulch. Entry into the stream at any point in the park is prohibited. Be prepared for rain, harsh sun, and mosquitoes. There is no beach access. There are two general stores in the nearby town of Hāna (10 miles [16 km] away) where you can purchase water and basic food supplies. Kīpahulu CampgroundBasic Information![]() The Kīpahulu campground is about 1/8 mile (.2km) south of the Kīpahulu Visitor Center. It overlooks ocean cliffs and is a short walk from 'Ohe'o Gulch. The campground has picnic tables, BBQ grills, and pit toilets. No water is available at Kīpahulu Campground; However, drinking water is available at the Kīpahulu Visitor Center restrooms. There are two general stores in the nearby town of Hāna (10 miles [16km] away) where you can purchase water and basic food supplies.

Weather Kīpahulu Campground is often hot, humid, and buggy. Be prepared for intense rain, sun, and mosquitos when staying at the campground. Campsite Fee Fee for a single campsite reservation. $8.00 Entrance Fee All park visitors are required to purchase a recreational use pass upon entering Haleakalā National Park. Passes are non-transferable and are valid for 3 days including the date of purchase. A variety of park passes cover park entrance fees. $30.00 per private vehicle - Valid for 3 days. $25 per motorcycle - Valid for 3 days. $15.00 per pedestrian or bicycle - Valid for 3 days. ADA Information - There are accessible restrooms and water fountains at the Kīpahulu Visitor Center. The campsites are spread out on a flat grassy field, which can be muddy and rocky in places. A small number of sites are .2 mile away from the main campsite loop. Wheelchair Access - The campsites are not paved, but vehicles can easily access each individual site in the loop. RV & Trailer Information - There are no RV or trailer sites. RV Allowed - No Trailer Allowed - No Classification - This campground is a limited development campground. |
