Western National Parks Association - San Francisco Maritime NHP: In partnership with the National Park Service since 1938, WNPA advances education, interpretation, research, and community engagement to ensure national parks are increasingly valued by all. Western National Park Association produces interpretive publications and other products and manages bookstores in National Park visitor centers nationwide. There is currently no retail location on-site at San Francisco Maritime NHP but does run a webstore (store.wnpa.org/national-park-
The Fund for People in Parks was established in 2014 to provide financial assistance and professional services to complete inspirational projects that enhance the visitor experience in western National Parks. The Fund works closely with park staff and the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association to bring private philanthropic support to projects that might not otherwise be funded. The Fund has provided grants for numerous projects at San Francisco Maritime, including replacement or restoration of key features on the C.A. Thayer, Grace Quan, and Balclutha historic ships, a compass rose with the National Park Service insignia at Hyde Street Pier, and two short films documenting the restoration of the Thayer and the art of the Aquatic Park bathhouse.
