 SAN FRANCISCO – On Monday, November 4, 2024, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park will temporarily suspend the $15 entrance fee to access the historic ships on Hyde Street Pier. The three-masted, square-rigged ship has been without topgallant masts for nearly 9 years. During the week of June 5th, 2023, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park’s 1907 steam tugboat Hercules will leave its Hyde Street Pier berth under tow for a visit to a drydock facility in Alameda, CA. While in drydock, Hercules, a National Historic Landmark (NHL) vessel, will undergo preservation work including cleaning, painting, and other maintenance.  The National Park Service and the Federal Aviation Administration completed a combined air tour management plan for Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Muir Woods National Monument, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, and Point Reyes National Seashore. The plan establishes measures to protect all four parks’ resources including natural and cultural resources, and visitor experience. SAN FRANCISCO - The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Paul DePrey to serve as the superintendent of San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park. He currently serves as the superintendent of Salem Maritime and Saugus Iron Works national historic sites in Massachusetts. He will begin his new role in late April.
