![]() NPS/L.Sian Free Programs for Community GroupsScience, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) ExperiencesSan Francisco Maritime offers STEAM-based programs for community groups and out-of-school time organizations. Park Rangers seek answers from the community to the question, “What can the vast resources of the National Park Service do for you in supporting your mission with your community?” ![]() NPS/L.Sian Examples of community group programs include: Art, History, and Health Tour:Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and fragrance of San Francisco Bay on a leisurely walk around Aquatic Park to learn about its history, its origins in health and healing during the Great Depression. Ages 15 and older. Jr. Ranger Angler Program:Learn about fishing, aquatic habitats and fishing safety in this beginning fishing program for young children. After completing the program, kids earn a Junior Ranger Angler badge and will take home the illustrated Jr. Ranger Angler booklet and a ruler to measure fish. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. This program can be offered at either your community group site or at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Ages 4 to 7. Agents of Discovery augmented reality game:Download the Agents of Discovery app and learn about the maritime history of Aquatic Park. This game can be played at home, at your community group site, or at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Ages 8 to 14. Tardigrades of Aquatic Park:Tardigrades are dust-size animals that live just about everywhere on the land and ocean. They can even survive in outer space. They are among the first colonizers of wind-swept, flooded, burned, denuded, and desiccated places of the earth. And they are cute like teddy bears! Catch and release tardigrades for study under a microscope. Draw, write a poem, story or play about these amazing, adorable animals with your group. Ages 8 and older. Contact our community groups ranger by email to design a maritime-themed STEAM program for your group. Options include a tour of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, special presentations at your community group site, or a table at your community fair event. Group size limited to 20 people.
