Alcatraz Island To purchase ferry boat tickets to visit Alcatraz Island go to Pier 33. From the entrance to Hyde Street Pier it is about a twelve block walk to the east along Jefferson Street which turns into The Embarcadero. Pier 33 is located where Bay Street intersects The Embarcadero. Alcatraz is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. |
