You Can Make a Difference

Welcome to San Francisco Maritime’s Volunteers In Parks (VIP) Program, where park stewards from all backgrounds use their unique skills, dedicated time, and unparalleled passion to protect park resources.

Anyone can donate their time and effort to providing essential services at San Francisco Maritime. Depending on the opportunity, volunteers may donate several months at a time or perhaps a few hours. Each volunteer's contribution makes a big difference.

Volunteers at San Francisco Maritime play a vital role in many aspects of park operations:

  • Providing information to visitors at the Visitor Center and Maritime Museum.

  • Working in the park's Small Craft boat shop

  • Preserving the park's collection of historical ships

  • Cleaning up litter on the beach

  • And much more...
