We want your visit to Fort Donelson National Battlefield and National Cemetery, whether it's your first or your thousandth, to be memorable, special, and safe.
Some important things to keep in mind: *When exploring the park's six mile, eleven stop driving tour, please be mindful of other vehicles and pedestrians walking along the tour road. *Remain on designated trails and walkways. *Follow the posted speed limits on park and local roads. *Keep dogs on prescribed leashes. (Only service animals are permitted inside facilities.) *When exploring, and when necessary, prepare for insects, including bees and wasps, ticks, and others. *For the protection of the resource, and for yours, please stay off historic earthwork fortifications, including the historic walls of Fort Donelson. *When hiking trails, dress appropriately, including footwear, prepare for seasonal insects, keep hydrated, and keep your bearings. *When in doubt, call 911. *Keep a respectful distance from wildlife, for your protection and theirs.
