Temporary Fort Donelson National Battlefield Visitior Center

The park Visitor Center is located at 120 Fort Donelson Park Road, Dover, TN. It is open 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 pm daily CST, closed only on Thanksgiving Day, December 25th and January 1. All visitor center facilities are handicapped accessible. The site contains an Eastern National gift shop and exhibits. Links to the park's audiovisual films may be found on this page. The Park Tour is self-guided, accessible by automobile and walking. Wayside interpretive exhibits are found at every location and additional information is available on the park brochure and NPS app. Parking may be found along the tour route for you to get out and experience each historic site.

Park Rangers are available for questions. Interpretive programs are offered for schools, civic groups, and military groups. Groups interested in arranging special tours are asked to call. At least two weeks notice is requested; we can not guarantee services with less than two weeks notice.

Fort Donelson National Battlefield Visitor Center is temporarily closed for renovations.  A temporary Visitor Center is located nearby.

This 1962-completed visitor center will receive an interior renovation to ensure accessibility for all, health and safety improvements for visitors and employees, and energy efficiency and sustainability.  The structure closed in December 2015.  Please visit the temporary Visitor Center.
