Drive from one end of Lake Roosevelt to the other and it may seem as if you’ve entered a completely different world. The vegetation changes dramatically from north to south as the ecosystems shift from Okanogan highlands to channeled scablands. Lake Roosevelt boasts a diverse array of plant life throughout the park as plant communities make use of different habitats. You may rest in the shade of a ponderosa pine or smell the fragrant sagebrush in the air. Bright balsamroot, delicate lupine, and delightful camas flowers may catch your eye over the course of the spring and summer. There is much to discover among the plants of Lake Roosevelt.
