Changes to Entrance Fees and Passes in 2026
Learn about a few
upcoming changes
to entrance fees and passes for non-US residents and
motorcycles that begin on January 1, 2026.
An entrance pass is not required to access Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.
Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.
2026 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks
Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates: Beginning in 2026, free entrance on these days will be for US citizens and residents only. Nonresidents will pay the regular entrance fee and any applicable nonresident fees.
No Entrance Fee
Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area does not charge an entrance fee. There are fees in place for camping and boat launching. Please see information below about these fees.
The Recreation Fee Demonstration Program, passed by Congress in 1996, allows 80% of the fees collected at Lake Roosevelt to remain here.
Boat Launch Fees
Boat launch passes are required year-round at all Lake Roosevelt's National Park Service (NPS) boat launches. Visitors can purchase a weekly pass, good for seven consecutive days or an annual pass, good through December 31st of the year printed on the pass. Weekly boat launch passes can be purchased on pay.gov before entering the park. Annual boat launch passes must be purchased in-person.
