Will You Take the Junior Ranger Challenge?

Become a Junior Ranger and help the Park Rangers at Oregon Caves protect the plants, animals, rocks, and history of this special place. This fun and educational program allows kids (and those young-at-heart) to learn about the monument and earn their official Junior Ranger Badge!

How to Earn Your Badge:

1. Complete a Junior Ranger Booklet (available as Adobe Reader files):
   • Chickaree: Ages 6 and under (4000 KB)
   • Grizzly: Ages 11 and older (21,000 KB)
2. Have a Park Ranger review your work: After completing your booklet, a park ranger will go over your answers and activities.
   
3. Take the Junior Ranger Pledge: Upon review, you’ll take the pledge to protect and preserve the park and all its treasures.

What's Next?

As a Junior Ranger, you'll take on the special role of helping protect national parks and monuments. Your new responsibilities include:

• Wearing your badge proudly: You've worked hard to earn it!
• Taking only memories and pictures: Respect the park by not disturbing its natural beauty.
• Leaving behind only footprints: Help keep Oregon Caves clean and undisturbed.
• Teaching others: Share what you’ve learned with friends and family, encouraging them to appreciate and protect Oregon Caves and other parks.
