General GuidelinesPets are welcome on the grounds of John Muir National Historic Site as long as they are leashed and under the owner’s control at all times. However, pets are not permitted inside the Historic Muir Home or the Martinez Adobe, except for service animals. Please help keep the park clean by picking up after your pet. Mount WandaPets are allowed on Mount Wanda, including while hiking the trails. As with the rest of the park, pets must be leashed at all times. Please refer to the general guidelines above regarding pet access to historic buildings and the visitor center. Service AnimalsUnder the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is defined as any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal that is individually trained to assist an individual with a disability. Animals meeting this definition are considered service animals under the ADA, regardless of whether they are licensed or certified by a state or local government. |
