Klondike Gold Rush Visitor Center

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is located in the historic Cadillac Hotel building. Look for the Cadillac Hotel sign on South Jackson Street. The Visitor Center contains interactive exhibits and displays about the Klondike Gold Rush. Free video presentations are shown in the park's theater.

Located in the historic Cadillac Hotel building at the corner of 2nd Ave S and South Jackson Street. Look for the Cadillac Hotel sign on South Jackson Street and NPS arrowhead signs on both streets.

The Klondike Gold Rush Visitor Center is open Wednesday through Sunday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is closed on Christmas Day.

Park Films

Learn more about the Klondike Gold Rush by viewing one of the two gold rush videos which describe the journey the stampeders had to make.

• Gold Fever: Race to the Klondike, highlights the gold rush from discovery, the various routes the stampeders would take, and eventually what happened to the men, women, and children who headed for the Klondike.
• Seattle: Gateway to the Gold Fields, offers a view of the Klondike Gold Rush's impact on the city of Seattle and three individuals who would leave from there to find their riches.

Each video is approximately 25 minutes long. During the summer, they are shown on a regular schedule and during the rest of the year are shown on request.

 

Interactive Exhibits

Two floors of interactive exhibits are designed to be self-guided. Visitors are primed with information that sets the scene for the Klondike Gold Rush. Find out about the journey stampeders made to the Klondike, how the gold rush gave new life to Seattle, and whether or not you'd have struck it rich.
