During the 20-day summer celebration, Japantown invites local tourists to delve more deeply in exploring its contemporary offerings as well as the rich history of the area. The stores, galleries, restaurants and other creative spaces will be showing their spirit with shopping, food and fun, along with self-guided tours and online events.
This exhibit of Gerard Tsutakawa's public work explores the inspiration, process, and final artwork, his father George's influence on his practice, and the effect these works have on Seattle physically, socially, and culturally, demonstrating how art imbues joy and strengthens the community.
