Dr. Kazue Togasaki was one of the first Japanese American women to become a doctor in the United States. She was born and raised in San Francisco and delivered over 10,000 babies in her long career serving the community and Japanese Americans. A survivor of Japanese internment in WWII, she was strong willed, serving as a physician to fellow internees at the assembly centers from 1942 until her release in Fall 1943.

Hannah Tomiko Holmes, formerly Takagi, was a Japanese American disability rights activist. After spending years of her childhood in Manzanar and Tule Lake War Relocation Centers during WWII, Holmes became an educator and advocate.

John Lesesne DeWitt (January 9, 1880 – June 20, 1962) was a general officer in the United States Army, best known for leading the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.

Mitsuye Endo, born on May 10, 1920, in Sacramento, California, was the plaintiff in a landmark Supreme Court decision that helped end Japanese American exclusion and incarceration during WWII.

Tamio "Tommy" Kono (June 27, 1930 – April 24, 2016) was a Japanese American weightlifter in the 1950s and 1960s. Kono set world records in four different weight classes: lightweight (149 pounds or 67.5 kilograms), middleweight (165 lb or 75 kg), light-heavyweight (182 lb or 82.5 kg) and middle-heavyweight (198 lb or 90 kg).

Wayne Mortimer Collins (November 23, 1899 – July 16, 1974) was a civil rights attorney who worked on cases related to the Japanese American evacuation and internment.
