Field Trips

At Tule Lake, students can learn the cultural history of the Civilian Conservation Corps enrollees, German and Italian prisoners of war, and about the incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII. Students can walk in the footsteps of these different groups while learning about the struggles they endured and the accomplishments they achieved.

Guest Speakers

Invite a ranger to come present in your classroom. Rangers are happy to help teachers in schools near Tule Lake learn more about this time period in history. In the past, teachers have requested a visit before taking a field trip, or before taking on a class project such as reading Farewell to Manzanar. Whatever the case is please let us know so we can create a presentation around your needs.

Traveling Trunks

Tule Lake offers two traveling trunks that will contain curriculum materials related to the incarceration of Japanese American's during WWII. If you're interested in using the trunks in your classroom, please contact our education coordinator at 530-667-8119.
