Support Your Park

Tule Lake is a very special place to many community members, as well as visitors from far and wide. Listed below are a few ways you can support the park.

  • Be a good park visitor. Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints. Enjoy yourself and remember future visitors who will come after you hoping to enjoy these American treasures too.
  • Support stewardship of the park by becoming educated about the park's natural and cultural resources.
  • Be a volunteer! There's nothing more rewarding than warm thanks from visitors whom you helped connect to the park and its resources!
  • Support the park's bookstore. A portion of proceeds of Tule Lake related items purchased through the Lava Beds Natural History Association is donated to help fund student interns, and visitor and education programs.
  • Keep informed on park issues and provide comment during park planning processes.
  • Be a good steward by obeying park regulations including, but not limited to: picking up trash; keeping dogs leashed; leaving precious resources undisturbed; and not harassing park wildlife.
  • Stay connected with us through our social media.
  • If you wish to make a monetary donation, you may send a check made out to the National Park Service, to Lava Beds National Monument, P.O. Box 1240, Tulelake, California, 96134.

If you have further questions or ideas for contributions, please contact the Superintendent via e-mail at tule_superintendent@nps.gov or by phone at 530-667-8101.

Oral History Interviews

To capture as many memories as possible from those who were incarcerated or those who worked on or around the Segregation Center and at Camp Tulelake, the NPS and several other groups are collecting oral interview histories. If you have memories you would like to share and document or if you know of someone with particularly interesting knowledge and memories, please email us at tule_information@nps.gov. While our capacity to conduct interviews is limited, we may be able to put you in touch with another group that could conduct an interview.

Historic Documents, Photos and Objects

Storage capacity for the archiving of curatorial objects is being added which will enable us to accept historic papers, photos and objects that relate to the Tule Lake Segregation Center and Camp Tulelake. You will also have the option to allow the NPS to copy your papers, photos or objects so that the historic content and significance can be shared. If you have objects you would allow to be copied or would like to donate, please contact the Superintendent via email at tule_superintendent@nps.gov, or via phone at 530-667-8101.
