Scout and Girl Scout Ranger Programs

Scout Ranger and Girl Scout Ranger Patches

The National Park Service has partnered with Scouts BSA and the Girl Scouts of America to create two programs: the Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger and the Resource Stewardship Girl Scout Ranger programs.

The programs invite Boy and Girl Scouts to take part in projects at national park sites. These projects help to spark awareness of our natural and cultural resources in our National Parks.

Scouts can earn a certificate or patch by participating in:

  • Organized educational programs

  • Volunteer service (or action) projects

Some examples of educational programs that qualify are:

  • Park Ranger-guided interpretive tours
  • Junior Ranger programs
  • Environmental education programs

More information can be found on each program's website. Please contact the park if you or your Scout group would like to take part in the program.
