What You'll Find in the Visitor Center

• Tactile maps, a piece of the stone exterior of the White House, and touchable replicas like the North Portico doorknob.
• Audio descriptions and assistive listening for films, videos, and exhibits.
• Open captions for all films and audio.

Sights and Sounds in the Park and Visitor Center

The White House and President’s Park are in downtown Washington, DC, which can be busy and loud. Expect to see and hear traffic, sirens, planes, helicopters, and sometimes first amendment activity.

The security screening area in the visitor center can get loud and crowded during busy times. The theater is open to the exhibit area, so you can hear the film from other parts of the visitor center.
