On Wednesday, April 10, 2024 the National Park Service at the request of the United States Secret Service is imposing a temporary closure of the Ellipse and its side panels, roadways and sidewalks, E Street and its sidewalks between 15th-17th Streets, First Division Monument and State Place, Sherman Park, Hamilton Place, Lafayette Park (except for the northern sidewalk adjacent to H Street, NW, and the area north of the bollards near 16th Street, NW) and the White House Sidewalk in conjunction with the State Arrival Ceremony and State Arrival Dinner for the Prime Minster of Japan as delineated in the attached maps and as further delineated by fencing.Specifically, there will be a temporary closure to the public of the following locations during the specified time periods on April 10, 2024:State Arrival
E Street, NW, from 15th to 17th Streets, NW, to include the sidewalks along First Division Park and Sherman Park; and the south fence line of the White House grounds; will be closed to the public from 6:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m
The Ellipse, to include the interior sidewalks and roadways; Sherman Park, to include the interior sidewalks (the east sidewalk on 15th Street, NW, can remain open to pedestrian traffic); and First Division Park to include the interior sidewalks (the west sidewalk on 17th Street, NW, can remain open to pedestrian traffic); will be closed to the public from6:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.

However, the United States Secret Service has communicated to the NPS that they will notify us as soon as practicable of any changes in dates and times or if these restrictions are no longer necessary. At the request of the United States Secret Service the National Park Service is also imposing a public use limitation and will not allow into the event:
