The Sacramento perch (Archoplites interruptus) are rare in their native Sacramento-San Joaquin watershed. Over time, they have been introduced into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and Point Reyes National Seashore. The National Park Service, state agencies, and academic institutions are studying these introduced populations to see if they can be used for recovery of the species in its native habitat.
