Many different offices and staff support grant programs across the National Park Service help communities understand and preserve important places to them as well as consult on and repatriate human remains under NAGPRA.

Staff of the Cultural Resources, Partnerships, and Science Directorate manage most, but not all, of these grant programs. SHPO Formula Grants

Annual grants to support cultural resources across the states.
THPO Formula Grants

Annual grant to support cultural resources by partner tribes.
NAGPRA Grants

Grants are available to assist museums, Indian Tribes, and Native Hawaiian organizations in consultation, documentation, and repatriation.
Semiquincentennial Grants

Supporting state-owned resources related to the founding of the nation.
Disaster Recovery Grants

Emergency funding from the Historic Preservation Fund to assist communities with preservation and repair work at historic sites.
Battlefield Interpretation Grants

Grants to enhance education and interpretation–to inspire wonder, understanding and empathy at places of this nations greatest challenges.
History of Equal Rights Grants

Grants that aim to preserve sites related to the struggle of all people to achieve equal rights in America.
Underrepresented Communities Grants

Grants to increase the number of listings in the National Register of Historic Places associated with underrepresented communities.
Tribal Heritage Grants

Grants to assist Indian Tribes in protecting and promoting their unique cultural heritage and traditions.
Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant

A subgrant program to support the rehabilitation of historic properties in rural communities.
African American Civil Rights Grants

Grants to document, interpret, and preserve the sites and stories related to the African American struggle to gain equal rights.
Battlefield Land Acquisition Grants

This grant enables state and local governments to permanently acquire threatened battlefield lands.
Battlefield Preservation Planning Grants

PPGs provide financial support for planning, interpreting and preserving battlefields and sites associated with armed conflict in the US.
Battlefield Restoration Grants

Grants to support preservation partners in their effort to restore eligible American Revolution, War of 1812, and Civil War sites.
Maritime Heritage Grants

The Maritime Heritage Program works to advance awareness and understanding of the role of maritime affairs in U.S. history.
HBCU Grants
