Explore. Learn. Protect.
Each year, numerous Junior Rangers recite the motto – Explore, Learn, and Protect – after learning about Jewel Cave National Monument. After successfully completing an activity booklet and taking part in at least one ranger-guided activity, youth will take an oath of their own to protect parks, continue to learn about parks, and share their own ranger story with friends and family. Although typically geared for kids ages 5-12, anyone can participate in the Junior Ranger Program and earn a badge for their accomplishments.
What about little park enthusiasts?
The monument also offers a Pee Wee Ranger Program for kids ages 3 and 4. Using a different activity booklet, this program is meant for kids to work with their parents/chaperones and learn even more about Jewel Cave. Ranger-guided activities vary from season to season (see above); however, if you are looking for a way to engage your little ones with the National Park Service, this program is just for you. |
