Our Partners

Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park is a partnership with limited property in federal ownership. The National Park Service (NPS) works with other entities to protect, preserve, and interpret properties inside the park's legislated boundaries.

Key Partners

The key partners are those named in the 2002 law establishing Cedar Creek & Belle Grove NHP. The NPS and its key partners own and protect about a third of the land within the park boundary, preserving historic resources, maintaining open space, and protecting unique natural resources.

Belle Grove, Inc.

Belle Grove, Inc. manages Belle Grove Plantation through a co-stewardship agreement with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and owns more than 100 acres within the park, including Fort Bowman (Harmony Hall).

Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation

Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation (CCBF) owns and manages more than 300 acres of land within the park, including the Heater House.

National Trust for Historic Preservation

The National Trust for Historic Preservation owns 283 acres of land, including the 1797 Belle Grove Manor House.

Shenandoah County

Shenandoah County owns more than 150 acres of land within the park with plans to manage passive recreation at the site.

Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation

The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation (SVBF) manages the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Historic District. Within the park, SVBF owns more than 400 acres and also holds easements on some private lands.

Community & Other Partners

The National Park Service cooperates with its community partners: the towns of Middletown and Strasburg, and the counties of Frederick, Shenandoah, and Warren. Other partners include the American Battlefield Trust.
