Butts Hill Fort

Butts Hill Fort, commonly called Fort Butts, is the largest Revolutionary War earthen fort in southern New England. The site was the command post for the American forces against the British and their Hessian mercenaries during the Battle of Rhode Island in August, 1778. Restoration efforts began in 2021.
