No entrance pass required

An entrance pass is not required to access Voyageurs National Park.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

Voyageurs National Park does not have an entrance fee. However, there are fees for camping, houseboat permits, boat tours, special interpretive programs, winter equipment rentals, and special use permits. Interagency Senior and Access passes provide a discount of 50% on boat tours only.

2025 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

Your fee dollars help support the building of new and old campsites and other park facilities.

Camping Fees

All tent campsites within Voyageurs National Park require a reservation fee and nightly amenity fees.

Houseboat Permit Fees

All houseboats, sailboats, and cabin cruisers (defined as registered vessels that contain sleeping facilities, cooking and food storage facilities, and a no-discharge toilet) require a permit for overnights in Voyageurs National Park.

Tour Boat Fees

Ranger-led boat tours require a fee at Voyageurs National Park.

Your Fees Benefit the Park

The fees you may pay when visiting Voyageurs National Park make a difference! We participate in the Congressionally-authorized Federal Recreation Lands Enhancement Act (FLREA). In Voyageurs, 96 percent of the fee revenue collected in the park stays here to help fund park projects related to the fee program.
