    Current Archeological Prospection 2024: Advances for the 21st Century

    In its 31st year, the workshop will be held May 13–17, 2024 at Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Although the schedule is weather dependent, the general format will consist of lectures planned in the morning, afternoons dedicated to hands-on fieldwork, and short evening sessions oriented toward other topics like data processing.

    The National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT), the Poverty Point World Heritage and State Historic Site, and the Friends of NCPTT, are hosting a three-day training workshop on human remains detection (HRD) dogs in archeological settings. The workshop will be held May 9 - 11, 2023, at the Poverty Point World Heritage Site in Pioneer, Louisiana

    This certificate program aims to develop new core competencies and skills for emerging and current cultural heritage specialists for a changing climate.     As part of the Hurricane Maria federal governments disaster response DOI Natural and Cultural Resources Response Support Function (RSF), requested assistance related to post disaster stabilization of Puerto Rico’s gravesites. Those discussions resulted in a partnership between FEMA, the Department of Interior, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Park Service, Puerto Rico SHPO and Instituto de Cultura.

Olmsted Now is the Greater Boston effort, an inclusive coalition that connects communities and organizations commemorating Greater Boston’s bicentennial of Brookline-based Olmsted with the “fierce urgency of now.”
