Enjoy outdoor activities year-round at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!


Spring brings wildflowers to photograph and birds to watch. Summer offers hiking, picnicking, boating, camping - and park ranger programs! Autumn displays vibrant colors as hunters take to the north woods. Winter visitors enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.

Take some time to explore the following activities. Make sure you are familiar with any rules and regulations as well as safety issues. A little bit of planning leads to the best experiences.

Pictured Rocks has 100 miles of hiking trails through lush forests, along cliffs, up sand dunes, to remote waterfalls, and much more.
