Like many national park sites, Muir Woods National Monument collects entry fees, which are then reinvested in our park. Certain passes, described below, may be used instead of paying entry fees. These fees may be waived on certain days of the year or for educational visits. Parking reservations - required for all visitors - are separate from entry fees, but may be purchased at the same time on GoMuirWoods.com. Entrance Fees$15.00 - Adult (16 years of age and older) Free - Children (15 years of age and under) Families with fourth graders, Veterans and Gold Star Families, and people with permanent disabilities can visit for free. Follow the instructions in the link before you arrive at Muir Woods. Fee Free DaysIn 2026, fees are waived for US citizens & residents on the following days.
Passes & Fee WaiversThe following park passes (sold at the Muir Woods Visitor Center) allow the pass holder and up to three other adults to enter Muir Woods free of charge. Passes do not exempt visitors from needing parking reservations, which are required for all groups parking a vehicle at Muir Woods. America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands PassThis pass admits the pass holder and up to three other adults to Muir Woods and all National Parks/Federal Recreation Lands that charge an entrance fee. There are several different versions of this pass. Please click here to learn more and order online. Do not order online if your anticipated visit is less than a month away, as it may not arrive to you in time. Muir Woods Annual Pass $45.00This pass is good for 12 months. It admits the pass holder and three persons (16 and older) to Muir Woods National Monument in Mill Valley. A digital version of the Muir Woods Annual Pass is also available for purchase on recreation.gov. Academic Fee WaiversOutings conducted for non-commercial educational purposes by schools and other bona fide academic institutions may be eligible for academic fee waivers to cover entrance fees. Academic fee waivers are not granted automatically. Educational groups must apply in advance of their outing and meet the following three criteria to receive a fee waiver.
