The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Theresa Moore as the first permanent site manager of Waco Mammoth National Monument. Moore will begin her new assignment on November 17, 2024.
National Park Service Regional Director Mike Reynolds has announced the selection of Justin Bates as superintendent of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park and Waco Mammoth National Monument in Texas.
U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell welcomed President Obama’s designation of the Waco Mammoth Site as one of the nation’s newest national monuments, permanently protecting the site where the extremely well-preserved fossils of a herd of Columbian Mammoths and other Ice Age animals have been found.
