    Mammoth Cave National Park seeks public review and comment on a Land and River Trails Management Plan through the Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website from July 25 through August 25, 2023. The new plan will help to ensure the long-term sustainability of park trails by providing strategic direction to guide trail maintenance, investment, and construction over the next few decades.

    The Beaver Marsh is among the most diverse natural communities in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. But this wasn’t always the case. The area had been a farm and later a junkyard, which was cleaned up by a community effort. Explore the history of the marsh and learn why it remains an important ecosystem in the national park.

    The Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail is comprised of a developing network of locally managed, land and water trails between the mouth of the Potomac River and the Allegheny Highlands. The trail passes through portions of five regions with distinct physical features and landscapes in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Residents and visitors can explore a variety of historic and natural landscapes within the trail corridor.

    Across the river from the large, bustling presidential monuments lining the National Mall is a lesser-known, peaceful memorial dedicated to the nation’s 36th president. Lyndon Baines Johnson Memorial Grove on the Potomac offers recreational opportunities, stunning views of the nation’s capital, and a chance to reflect on the legacy of President Lyndon B. Johnson.
