Our Changing Planet, Our Changing Parks

Rapid, human-caused climate change is challenging national parks across the United States. Rising sea levels, hurricanes, higher temperatures, heat waves, and water availability are already affecting the Southeast region and will increasingly do so in the future.

Natural and cultural resources are being threatened, particularly along the coastline. The National Park Service is taking steps to manage and adapt areas vulnerable to climate change impacts.
