Navigating the Parks: Maps and Reliable Directions

Important GPS Note:

Many popular online maps and GPS apps do not provide accurate coverage of Redwood National and State Parks. Visitors attempting to reach specific locations are often misdirected to isolated towns, remote logging roads, or private property.

To avoid navigation issues, we strongly recommend using a printed park map and planning your route in advance.

Important Travel Tips

  • Do not use Bald Hills Road as a route to Redwood National Park.
  • Highway 101 runs north and south through the center of the parks and is the most reliable route.
  • Highway 199 provides access from the northeast.
  • Highway 299 is the best route from the southeast.
  • Once inside the parks, Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway offers a scenic drive through the heart of the redwoods.

For detailed maps and reliable navigation, visit our National Park Service Map Collection.
