Fees & Passes

Free
No entrance pass required

An entrance pass is not required to access Redwood National and State Parks.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

There are no entrance fees to drive the scenic roads or highways in our three state parks and national park. Some day-use areas have fees; these accept interagency and CA state park passes.

2025 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

Entrance Fees / America the Beautiful Passes / Day-Use Fees

  • National Park: Redwood National Park is free to visit! We have no entrance stations, and thus we do not sell the "Senior Pass" or the "Annual Pass" of the federal America the Beautiful Passes.
  • California State Parks: Jedediah Smith, Del Norte Coast, and Prairie Creek Redwoods state parks collect day-use fees at developed campground entrance stations. These three California State Parks will honor the federal "America the Beautiful" series of passes and provide discounted pricing to pass holders. Holders of California State Parks passes will be able to use their state pass.
  • In Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park there is an entrance fee to drive to Gold Bluffs Beach / Fern Canyon. This state park entrance fee will be waived to holders of any federal "America the Beautiful" pass.

Fee-Free Days
All entrance/day-use fees within Redwood National and State Parks and at all national park sites across the country will be waived on the following days:
