Your Fee Dollars at Work

The fees you pay when visiting Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument make a difference! We participate in the Congressionally-authorized Federal Recreation Lands Enhancement Act. Under this program, our park keeps 100% percent of all fees collected and uses that money to fund important projects that improve visitor services and protect resources. At Florissant Fossil Beds, your fees were used to work on projects like:

  • Rehabilitation of Boulder Creek Trail Section for Visitor Safety and Enjoyment
  • Stabilization of the Petrified Forest Trail
  • Replacement of Trail Signs Parkwide
  • Creation and Installation of New Fossil Replica Exhibit in the Visitor Center
  • Creation of Interpretive Media
