Snow-covered Sawmill Trail

Sawmill Trail

Sawmill Trail was completely snow-covered in late March. The snow was deeper in some areas and also slushy and icy. This photo is facing west and was taken 3/22/2024.

 

Current park operating hours:

• The park is open Mondays through Saturdays. The park is closed on Sundays.
• On Mondays, the Visitor Center may have reduced hours or remain closed. Restrooms, brochures, maps, and the passport stamp will be available in the foyer of the Visitor Center on Mondays if the Visitor Center is closed.
• The Visitor Center is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
• The Barksdale Picnic area and trails are open for day use seven days a week, however, the pit toilet is closed until late spring. Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
• The Hornbek Homestead area and trails are open for day use seven days a week. The Hornbek Homestead Parking Lot is open at night for night sky viewing. However, the pit toilet is closed until late spring. Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
