Entrance to Congaree National Park is free. There is no fee to enter the park.
America the Beautiful - National Park & Federal Recreational Lands Passes
Update January 2026: We are unable to sell or issue 2026 park passes at this time. We do not have 4th Grade or Military Lifetime Passes, either. Please see alternative options below for obtaining park pass.
As Congaree National Park does not have an entrance fee, we do not have staff dedicated to selling and issuing America the Beautiful Interagency passes. Some park staff are able to sell and issue passes, but unfortunately cannot be available to do so at any time.
We do not recommend making a trip solely to purchase or obtain a park pass. If you are visiting for this reason, however, call 803-776-4396 the day of your visit to inquire whether staff will be available. If you do not call to confirm, you may arrive on a day or at a time when staff are unavailable to assist you. We do not want you to be disappointed, so please call ahead! And please be aware, passes can only be purchased with credit, we cannot accept cash. If pass sales are not available on the day, or at the time of your visit, the below options are always available:
Note: If you are planning a trip to a national park that charges a fee, you can always purchase the America the Beautiful pass upon arrival, instead of paying a standard entrance fee.
