Biscayne National Park is an incredible classroom and laboratory for students of all ages.
Biscayne National Park's Education Program covers a wide variety of subject matter and topics appropriate for most primary and secondary grades, as well as for college, and life long learners too. Our goals for all our education endeavors are to:
- provide free, relevant, and inclusive real world learning opportunities that provide all students with a better understanding of natural and cultural histories
- improve scientific literacy for all participants
- increase appreciation for public lands
Our current focus and priority is on 4th grade programming and many of our activities are designed to align with 4th grade standards. Our most popular program is "Biscayne Explorer", a 4-hour, hands-on program that introduces students to marine sciences through seine net tows, microscopy, nature journaling, and exploration of visitor center exhibits.
Our October 2024-January 2025 schedule is full, and we are not booking any more programs for this time period. We will open registration for our February-June 2025 season in late November 2024.
