• Campfires are only permitted within the fire rings in campgrounds and at some, not all, backcountry campsites.
• All campfires must be attended at all times and be cold to the touch before abandoning. Soak, stir, feel, and repeat until out cold.
• For information on current fire restrictions in counties surrounding the park, visit Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.

• Active: Any wildland fire that has not been declared contained, controlled, or out.
• Contained: A wildland fire is surrounded by a control line and/or natural features.
• Controlled: A wildland fire has been contained and the probability of it increasing in size is considered very low.
• Out: All combustion has ceased on a wildland fire and no heat or smoke remains.
