Continue onto President Biden Expressway (formerly known as Central Scranton Expressway) and follow signs to Mifflin Ave. Turn left onto Mifflin Ave. Turn right onto Lackawanna Ave. Turn left onto Cliff St (Park entrance). Warm and sometimes humid summers; cold and rainy or snowy winters. Wear seasonable clothing and good walking shoes. For travel aboard the summer and fall seasonal excursion trains, please note that the commuter-type coaches are not air-conditioned, or may not be heated. Therefore, we recommend that you dress appropriately for the season that you plan to visit us! While there is no entrance fee for Steamtown National Historic Site, tickets are required for all train rides throughout the season. Many tickets are available for advance purchase online; all tickets may also be purchased on-site at Steamtown, credit card only, during regular business hours.. Visitor Center and Park StoreThe Visitor Center at Steamtown NHS is currently closed due to long-term repairs on building systems and utilities. Please visit a ranger at the Information Kiosk to learn where to go and what to do. When you're done, head next door to the Park Store located in the historic Oil House for your passport stamp. Train RidesThe Steamtown rail experience varies from 30-minute trips exploring the park’s historic railroad yard to full-day excursions through the Poconos and Lackawanna Valley.
