SITKA, ALASKA —On Wednesday, December 4th at 7 pm, Zachary Jones, an art historian and the Integrated Resources Program Manager at Sitka National Historical Park, will speak on historic Tlingit silversmith jewelers from Sitka. The presentation will overview the history of Tlingit silversmithing, showcase photographs of historic jewelry, and provide biographies of multiple individual artists that practiced at Sitka around the turn of the twentieth century.
The lecture will be held at Sitka National Historical Park’s Visitor’s Center Theater. The event is free and is part of educational programing for November, the month nationally recognized as Native American Heritage Month.
