The Eta Aquarid meteor shower occurs in early May; nesting bird season; river otters; Marta Lindsey will be reading and signing copies of her book, "Little Gray's Great Migration", on May 9.

Vernal equinox and lunar and solar phenomena; updates on wildflowers and whales; new art displays at the Bear Valley Visitor Center; Bear Valley Visitor Center now closes at 5 pm.

The full moon rises on Tuesday, February 3. Early wildflowers are beginning to bloom. Updates on elephant seals, gray whales, and tule elk. Park visitor centers will be open the Presidents Day weekend. If the weather is clear, shuttles will operate through the three-day weekend. Highway 1 south of Muir Beach has re-opened.
