Shuttle Service

Before you plan your trip, PLEASE research the park's backcountry camping webpage. Visitors who do research ahead of time are better prepared and have much more enjoyable experiences. To find out current conditions or ask other questions about backpacking, call the Munising Falls Visitor Center at 906-387-3700.

Shuttle information is subject to change. Please visit the transportation provider's website for the most up-to-date schedule and cost.

Altran (Alger County Transit)

PLEASE REMEMBER....It is recommended that you use shuttle service at the beginning of your trip and hike to your vehicle. If you miscalculate your time and miss your shuttle at the end of your trip they will not be turning around to get you. Also, there is no guarantee that there will be cell phone service at your location to call for a new pickup time.

ALTRAN requires advance pre-paid reservations.The Altran bus travels east towards Grand Marais on Alger County Road H-58, with the return trip traveling west on H-58 to Munising. Please refer to their website for schedules and special run information.

If Altran does not have reservations, the bus does not make the run. Do not count on them just "showing up."

Paddling Michigan

Paddling Michigan provides shuttle service to and from their secure parking lot. As with ALTRAN, you must make a reservation, they will not just "show up". Please reach out to them directly with any questions.
