The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) upholds the best interest and confidence of the public and National Park Service (NPS) employees by conducting complete, objective, and independent investigations of alleged NPS law enforcement officer misconduct.

When there are allegations of misconduct by NPS law enforcement officers, the Office of Professional Responsibility determines whether an internal affairs investigation is justified, and if so, completes all investigations in a timely and thorough manner. OPR conducts investigations ensuring the integrity of the NPS law enforcement officers to the public.
