A Record of Determination (ROD), as required by 36 CFR §1.5, documents the need to establish, modify, or remove a public use limit, closure, or restriction in a park when necessary for the maintenance of public health and safety, protection of environmental or scenic values, protection of natural or cultural resources, aid to scientific research, implementation of management responsibilities, equitable allocation and use of facilities, or the avoidance of conflict among visitor use activities. A signed copy of the record of determination and accompanying public notice is available by request to the Superintendent's Office. You can make this request via email or in-person at National Capital Parks — East Headquarters. Public Notices |
